Listening is one of my main strengths, people open up with me and I believe it is due to my calm, caring way.
I provide a safe and supportive environment in which we can explore the nature of your issues, problems or concerns. I believe challenging yourself is an important aspect of counselling, it helps you see things from a different perspective.
Honesty, congruence, genuineness, however you want to call it I believe is vital to counselling work and therefore will be completely genuine with you. So if something comes into my head as we are discussing I will bring that into the room, of course only if it's appropriate and I felt that you would be okay with it. I understand that what I have just said could be scary, but it is something that builds up between us alongside the working relationship.
I am a registered member of the BACP, British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I offer face to face confidential counselling in the private setting of my office in Calne, in a shared professional building. A space where you can feel at ease to be yourself, have no fear of judgement, talk openly, swear, be able to express yourself in words, metaphors, images, drawing or music. I do have art paper, pens, small musical instruments and behavioural, role and archetype cards. You can also bring in items, art supplies to aid in your sessions.
I also offer telephone and online appointments, in which I will be in a private setting ensuring I am providing professional and confidential counselling.
Walking and talking counselling, it may be having a counselling session like we would inside but in the surroundings of nature, or we can use the visuals, smells, terrain, textures, lights of nature to explore, express, describe and heal. Being in nature can feel freeing and help you to explore inside yourself. Being out in public can question that confidential space, we will discuss this together and agree on our actions in these situations.
I am currently taking on new clients ranging from young people to older adults, I professionally cater from 18 years and up. Remember I provide face to face counselling in Calne and online counselling and telephone counselling to anyone in the UK. I follow the ethical practice and regulations of the BACP, British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
You are the focus and the concern of the sessions, your safety and interest always come first.
